Trimo receives Certification as an Authorised Economic Operator

Trebnje, 21 September 2009 – Trimo received Certification as an Authorised Economic Operator (following AEO) in June. Because of this certification, we are now one of 18 companies in Slovenia with this certification, and the second one in the Dolenjska region. Today the Director of the Customs Office, Ljubljana, Zoran Taljat, officially handed us the AOE certificate at a meeting in Trimo.
As the holders of the AEO certificate we have the following advantages:
  • Trimo is consequently recognised world-wide as a safe and reliable business partner in international commerce (as a buyer, supplier, freight-forwarder, transporter, etc.).
  • Physical inspections by customs and reviews of shipment documentation will not be made as often as with other commercial operators.
  • Faster implementation of customs procedures at EU borders (if a physical inspection is required we will have priority over others).

In the directive the European Parliament determined the reason for this certification, the requirements to acquire certification, and the rights and duties of certificate holders. It is especially intended for companies that operate in the international supply-chain, particularly those that require local clearance by customs, or other simplified forms of custom procedures, as well as international freight-forwarders - transport companies. This certification will be mandatory for certain business procedures (e.g. customs clearance of goods).

That is why Trimo submitted an application, in the first half of last year with the Slovene Customs Administration, for certification - to help us realise our vision and mission in the demanding international market or, more precisely, to acquire new customers and reliable suppliers, whilst at the same time benefiting from the reputation of being a safe and reliable partner with business clients, which certification provides.

Companies with this certificate are listed (alphabetically): Avto Triglav, F.A. Maik, Feršed, Gea, Gorenje, Impol, Krka, Mikro + Polo, Paloma, Perutnina Ptuj, Sava GTI, Sava -Schafer, Savatech, Schenker, Transglob, Trimo, Šped-agencija, and Špedicija Goja.

So far, 1358 companies in the EU were able to acquire this certificate including: Siemens, UPS, Philips, Heineken, Elektrolux, BMW, Bosch, Cannon, Corus Stahl, DHL, etc.

Gorenje was the first company to receive this certificate in Slovenia (pilot project). Trimo is the 2nd company to receive this certificate in the Dolenjska region; and the 9th in Slovenia (according to the date the certificate was received).
